While the club sports season is in full swing in Colorado, some of the state's top high school boys basketball teams will tip off against each other starting June 14 at Rock Canyon and Heritage high schools.
The C3 Challenge, which will run through June 16, features teams from the Continental and Centennial leagues, in addition to other top programs, according to Heritage boys basketball coach Jentry Byleveld, the event's organizer.
Among the invited 24 teams are two-time defending Class 5A champion
Overland (Aurora), 5A runner-up
Eaglecrest (Centennial) and
Chatfield (Littleton), a 5A semifinalist in 2016, 4A runner-up
Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch) and perennial powers
Doherty (Colorado Springs),
Cherry Creek (Greenwood Village) and
Regis Jesuit (Aurora).
Games begin at 8 a.m. each day at Heritage, 10 a.m. at Rock Canyon. Admission is $5 for a three-day pass or $2 per day. Information: Jentry Byleveld, jbyleveld@lps.k12.co.us.
