Shannon
was one of the top hitters in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference,
batting .537 (33 for 75) with 24 runs, seven doubles, two triples, seven
home runs and 31 RBIs.
What the scouts like: A prospect in the
outfield and on the mound, Shannon actually ranks as the top high
school first baseman. He throws around 94 mph, so don't be surprised if
some team gives him a chance to pitch. However he also has plenty of
power at the plate, making him a good candidate to be an everyday
player.
Where he will go: Likely a second day pick, either in the second or third round.
