TROJAN STORYLINES* It's not often that a high school team loses a player to a college program like North Carolina and the expectations actually increase. But that's the dynamic this season at Wesleyan, where Theo Pinson is now a Tar Heel but the new cast has the Trojans thinking big.
* The primary source of optimism is a healthy Giles, a top of the class-caliber talent who suffered a torn ACL in 2013. He returned over the summer to help the United States earn a gold medal at the FIBA U17 World Championship in Dubai.
* Childress is the son of legendary Wake Forest guard Randolph Childress, a professional journeyman who is now on the Demon Deacon coaching staff. On Oct. 24, the younger Childress committed to follow in his father's footsteps at Wake.
