LION STORYLINES* Don't be fooled by Roselle Catholic's 10 losses a year ago. Under Boff, the Lions have annually loaded up the schedule. In fact, the program has faced a team ranked No. 1 nationally in each of the past four seasons. The payoff has come in the postseason, where Roselle Catholic has ended storied St. Anthony's season two years in a row and captured the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions title in 2012-13.
* The subject of a heated recruiting battle between the likes of Connecticut, Kentucky, Missouri and St. John's, Briscoe is a Top 10 national prospect and a winner in the backcourt. He led the New Jersey-based club Playaz to the prestigious Nike EYBL title over the summer and solidified his reputation as one of the nation's best guards. "We are expecting great things from him," Boff said. "I think our strength and conditioning program had a hand in really reshaping his body and he has totally dedicated himself to the film room. We are proud of everything he has become."
* Boff is expecting key contributions from a pair of highly touted freshmen in Reid and Taylor. Both built national reputations as middle schoolers and are regarded as Top 25 2018 prospects by Future150.com.
