Video: CIF Record - 86 points in 1st halfCorona Centennial won the most anticipated game of the season, beating St. John Bosco 62-52 to capture a Pac-5 title. As a result, it is the new No. 1 team in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
Centennial's offense was its usual, explosive self, and its defense rose to the occasion to force three turnovers.
Centennial will enjoy a week off before playing in the CIF Open Division Bowl Game, where De La Salle will be waiting.
With over a half-dozen states still playing football, there is plenty of time for the rankings to continue to shift before a national champion is crowned on Monday, Dec. 21.
