The 2017 MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year Sam Huard
of Kennedy Catholic (Burien, Wash.)
got his sophomore campaign off to an unbelievable start Friday night, throwing for 552 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Nine of his 10 scoring strikes came in the first half as Kennedy Catholic rolled past Chief Sealth 72-20.
The Lancers shut Huard down after the third quarter, according to Luke Olson of B-Town Blog.
According to MaxPreps record guru Kevin Askeland, Huard is the 18th player in high school football history to throw 10 or more touchdown passes in a game. The all-time record is 15, set by Arthur Smith of Nebraska in 1921.
As a freshman, Huard threw for 3,432 yards and 34 touchdowns in just 10 games to earn top frosh honors from MaxPreps.
