Science Hill (Johnson City, Tenn.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Volunteer (Church Hill, Tenn.), 42-14, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, the Hilltoppers led 14-6 at the half.
Science Hill grew its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. SH scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
Coming into the game the Johnson City school had allowed 29.7 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Falcons above their season average of 7.3 points scored per game.
With the win Science Hill extended its winning streak to three games.
In a AAA District 1 game next week Volunteer (0-8) takes on Sullivan Central, and Science Hill (6-2) will go up against Daniel Boone also in a AAA District 1 game.
