The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Saturday Lakes takes on Kamiakin in the first playoff game of the year. Lakes might be a bit distressed seeing as how its point totals have been consistently dropping over the past four games.
Lakes was close but not close enough last game as it fell 21 - 19 to Bethel.
Meanwhile, Kamiakin has added another blowout to its collection (now totaling seven) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Southridge last week with a conclusive 56 - 20 victory. The margin wasn't a surprise since Kamiakin is ranked 99 positions ahead of Southridge in the state.
Lakes's defeat dropped it to 6-3 while Kamiakin's win brought it to 8-1. Kamiakin is looking to hand Lakes its first back-to-back losses of the season. We'll find out if Lakes can avoid giving it that satisfaction.
