After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Mustangs were up 22-0 at the half.
Sutton grew its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a passing touchdown.
Thayer Central's only touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
The Mustangs came into the game allowing 16.7 points per game. The seven points that the Titans ended with were well below their average of 15.5 coming into the game.

The victory was a step in the right direction for SHS, which was coming off a 34-30 defeat at the hands of Doniphan-Trumbull in its previous game. The loss comes after Thayer Central defeated Superior 35-6 last week. The win broke Sutton's two-game losing streak.
In a C2 District 7 game next week Thayer Central (3-4) takes on St. Cecilia, and Sutton (5-2) will go up against Superior also in a C2 District 7 game.
