Both Wills Point and Caddo Mills go head to head this Saturday at 2:00 PM in their first playoff game of the year. Wills Point took its game against Ferris last week by a confident 50 - 20 score. Meanwhile, Caddo Mills scooted by Bonham with a score of 54 - 35.
Wills Point might be getting used to wins now that the team has gotten six in a row. It got the good result in part due to two touchdowns from senior Vernon Morrow, who has now contributed at least one touchdown in the past five games. Senior Brandon Smith was another big-time player for Wills Point. He tacked on five touchdowns to Wills Point's score. This also marked the 4th consecutive game in which Smith rushed for 100+ yards. The win bumped Wills Point's record up to 6-4.
As for Caddo Mills, after a disappointing ten points in the game before, it made sure to put some points up on the board against Bonham last week. Junior Payton Hammons was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he rushed for 313 yards and four touchdowns). Senior Hunter Aycock banked an additional four TDs for the team. The win got Caddo Mills up to 4-6.
The two teams picked up some nice yardage in their most recent games (478 for Wills Point and 555 for Caddo Mills), so expect some excitement on the offensive end of the ball.
