Steele (Cibolo, Texas) put an additional 14 points on the board on top of its 49-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out South San Antonio (San Antonio, Texas) 63-0.
The Knights were up 49-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Justin Stockton touchdown run in the first quarter.
Steele put up 35 points in the first quarter en route to the win. SHS scored on a touchdown run by Stockton, a Stockton touchdown run, a touchdown pass by
Breylann McCollum to
Matthew Mayle, a touchdown pass by McCollum and a defensive touchdown in the quarter.
The Cibolo school's standout player in the win was McCollum. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Coming into the game the Knights had allowed 18.5 points per game this year.
South San Antonio (2-5) goes up against King in a 5A Region IV District 28 game matchup next week, while Steele (7-0) locks horns with East Central also in a 5A Region IV District 28 game.
