BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -
North Ridgeville (Ohio) secured a 34-14 victory over
Bay (Bay Village, Ohio) on Saturday to bring the team's record back up to .500.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, the Rangers were up 14-7 at the half.
North Ridgeville grew its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. NR scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
Coming into the game the Rangers had allowed 28.7 points per game this year. A defensively strong North Ridgeville kept the Rockets well above the 6.6 points it had been averaging per game.
The victory avenged North Ridgeville's close 13-12 loss to Bay last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for NR, which lost to Avon last week, 31-7. The victory ended North Ridgeville's two-game losing streak. The loss was the third in a row for BHS.
In a West Shore game next week Bay (1-7) takes on Rocky River, and North Ridgeville (4-4) will go up against Elyria Catholic also in a West Shore game.
