Cindy Robles were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Player of the Week winners for their outstanding play during the week of May 15-21.
East RegionJohnson registered 12 hits in 14 at-bats for a .857 average in three wins for the Wildcats. In her first game of the week, a 9-5 win over Naugatuck, she was 3-for- 3 with a double, triple, two RBI and four runs scored. She almost mirrored that performance against Sacred Heart, going 4-for- 4 with a double, triple, four runs scored and two RBI. Taking advantage of her .875 on-base percentage, Johnson used her speed to swipe seven bases in seven attempts.
North RegionFrank checked in with a .786 batting average, three home runs and 16 RBI as the Cardinals went 3-1 last week. The senior catcher put forth a pair of six-RBI contest against Brookeville and Curwensville. In the latter, she homered twice, doubled and went 3-for- 3 at the plate. Against Brookeville, Frank registered a double, home run and three hits in a 12-2 win. She also generated four RBI, four hits and two runs against DuBois.
South RegionMorgan was 9-for- 12 (.750) with four doubles, two triples, nine RBI and eight runs scored helping the Foxes to three wins last week. The junior infielder was a perfect 4-for- 4 with three doubles, four RBI and three runs in a 10-1 triumph over Chancellor. In the second matchup against the Chargers, Morgan doubled, tripled, scored four times and drove in three runs in a 19-0 victory. She also tripled and recorded two RBI versus James Monroe.
South Central RegionLargent hit .667 (8-for- 12) with a double, four home runs, seven RBI and five runs scored. Additionally, she was 2-1 with a save in the circle, tossing a pair of shutouts against Christian County and Calloway County. In the latter contest, she allowed one hit, struck out five and did not walk a batter. Offensively, Largent went 4-for- 4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored versus St. Mary. She also went yard twice and drove in four runs in a triumph over Murphy.
West RegionRobles went the distance in three starts, going 3-0 with a 0.33 ERA, 30 strikeouts and zero free passes. The senior righty started the week off with a bang, tossing a no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Carson. She fanned 14 and faced two batters over the minimum. Against San Fernando, she twirled a four-hit shutout and struck out 13 in a 2-0 triumph. Robles capped off her stellar week with a four-hit, three-strikeout complete-game effort in a 2-1 win against Banning.
