C1 District 8 recap September 10, 2013
Valentine's Brooks Coleman rumbled for the longest rushing play in C1 District 8 this season in his game against Chamberlain last week. Coleman's team beat the Cubs as he sprinted for 69 yards on the play and finished with 107 in all.
Broken Bow was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in the league. The Indians vanquished Ogallala 14-13 earlier in the week.
Josh Finley put up the best numbers in passing as Ainsworth fell to West Holt. He finished with 5 completions for 49 yards.
Jacob Hand was a passing and rushing force as Craig Schmeckpeper's team topped Chamberlain.
Hand was the best running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 125 yards as Valentine fell to Wayne.
Emme was the best receiver in C1 District 8 this week as the Eagles fell to the Blue Devils. Emme tallied 3 receptions for 36 yards.
Broken Bow and the Indians played the most contested game in the league this week, with Broken Bow eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
