Hamilton finished a few points shy of
South Plainfield, taking a 21 - 17 hit to the loss column. Since it was a playoff game, the defeat was a particularly difficult one for Hamilton.
One key standout for South Plainfield was Zachary Delvecchio, who earned two touchdowns and 161 yards rushing the ball. This marked the 4th consecutive game in which Delvecchio had 100+ rushing yards. Additional support came from junior Dondre' Tate, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 12 tackles.
The win lifted South Plainfield to 4-5. The defeat brought Hamilton down to 3-6.
The teams are out to raise these records in their next games. South Plainfield will face off against North Plainfield Thursday at 10:30 AM. Meanwhile, Hamilton will look to defend its home turf against Steinert this Thursday at 10:30 AM.
