On Friday North Shelby take on Milford/Cissna Park at 7:00 PM. North Shelby have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability Milford/Cissna Park are surely hoping to exploit.
After some red-hot point totals in their last 3 games, North Shelby fizzled out last Friday. They were completely outmatched, falling 8-52 to Stanberry. A silver lining for North Shelby was the play of junior Dayton Mettes, who picked up 126 yards on the ground. If you haven't heard Mettes's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past four games.
After a string of three wins, Milford/Cissna Park's good fortune finally ran out two weeks ago. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 34-58 walloping at Newman's hands. The state rankings had actually given Milford/Cissna Park a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
