Santa Fe probably has a sour taste in its mouth after its recent playoff game against Gahr didn't go its way. Santa Fe was close but not close enough as it fell 31 - 28 to Gahr. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Santa Fe after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Gahr got off to a good start with a 17-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 17 - 15 advantage at the half. In the end, the contest was a thrilling one, decided by a three-yard rushing touchdown from Micah Bernard in the last minute of the game.
One of the most exciting plays for Gahr came from junior Micah Bernard, who broke away for a 60-yard TD rush in the third quarter.
The defeat brought Santa Fe down to 6-5. The win lifted Gahr to 8-3.
The Gahr squad is out to improve its record as its season nears the end. Gahr is set to face off against Dos Pueblos in a playoff match this Friday at 7:30 PM.
