Sean Thomas of Our Lady of the Lakes ran for the longest rushing play in Catholic Intersectional this season against Shrine Catholic last week. Thomas' team beat the Knights as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 187 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Our Lady of the Lakes beat Shrine Catholic 21-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for Josh Sawicki's team.
Thomas was a passing and rushing force as the Lakers defeated John Goddard's team.
Thomas was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 187 yards as Our Lady of the Lakes lost to Our Lady of the Lakes.
Bishop Foley's BRENDAN MCMAHON and NICHOLAS GWISDALLA have formed a dream team this season, leading Catholic Intersectional in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback MCMAHON has thrown for 861 yards this season, while GWISDALLA has 24 catches for 321 yards. The Lakers' Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 1,001.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Shrine Catholic takes on second place Richard.
The Ventures and Richard played the closest game in the league this week, with the Ventures eventually emerging with a 24-19 victory. STEPHEN REDDING ran for 15 yards and caught 1 pass for 13 yards during the win.
