AAA District 14 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Craigmont extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 14 this week by beating Hardin County, 42-26. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Millington Central took down Brighton 35-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Arlington's dynamic duo of Hunter Sheffield and Justin Boring proved tough for Overton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Sheffield threw for 260 yards and one touchdown and Boring had 106 yards receiving. Allen Deberry helped Arlington's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 103 yards.
Brandon Henderson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 22 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Bolton lost to the Bobcats. Teammate Greg Williams added to the ground attack by rushing for 31 yards.
Tavon Banks made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wildcats fell to Germantown. The 5-foot-8 defensive lineman grabbed two sacks.
Arlington's Drew Reed and Boring have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Reed has thrown for 1470 yards this season, while Boring has 69 catches for 1110 yards. Henderson from Bolton leads the league in rushing with 1224 yards.
The Trojans made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,322 from 3,311. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-14 victory over the Cardinals last week.
