COLUMBIA, Mo. -
Rockhurst (Kansas City, Mo.) jumped out to an early lead against
Hickman (Columbia, Mo.) and never looked back on the way to a 21-6 victory on Saturday.
The Hawklets put up seven points in the opening frame. Rockhurst scored on a touchdown run by
Kiah Kintchen.
After taking the lead on a Kintchen touchdown run in the first quarter, RHS led 14-0 at the half.
The Kansas City school grew its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. The Hawklets scored once in the quarter on a
T.j. Green touchdown pass to
Mitch Koeppen.
Hickman's only touchdown came on an 18-yard run by
Mason Murray in the fourth quarter.
Rockhurst came in allowing an average of 19.5 points per game this season.
RHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 34-7.
The defeat comes as a step back for Hickman, who notched a 34-27 victory over Jackson in its previous outing. With the win the Kansas City school extended its winning streak to three games.
