Adding to the longest winning streak in Capital Area - Blue this week, Sexton beat Holt 48-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Big Reds.
Okemos scaled the state rankings by moving to 318 from 353 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Chieftains climbed the ranks as a result of besting Jackson 16-6.
MARQ ADAMS was a passing and rushing force as East Lansing lost to Everett. ADAMS's key target this week was DEVIN PARITEE, who caught 2 passes for 16 yards.
ADAMS was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 151 yards on 27 carries as the Trojans fell to Sexton. BOBBY WILLIAMS also contributed to the rushing game with 36 yards on the ground.
Holt's Eric Potter and Dozier have formed a dream team this season, leading Capital Area - Blue in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Potter has thrown for 885 yards this season, while Dozier has 22 catches for 448 yards. East Lansing's ADAMS leads the league in rushing yards with 692.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bill Feraco's team takes on Daniel Boggan's team. At the moment, the Trojans are in fifth, while the Big Reds are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when East Lansing takes on Sexton. The Trojans have allowed 80 points this season, while the Big Reds have given up 39. East Lansing allowed 25 points last week as it fell to the Vikings.
Sexton was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Al Slamer's team. The Big Reds came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 44 last week.
