8A District 7 recap Sept. 26, 2012
East Lake led 8A District 7 in scoring this week after putting up 31 points on Trinity Catholic.
North Port made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,771 from 4,356. The improvement was the result of 7-0 victory over Lely last week.
Riverview's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dominic Marino threw for 160 and one touchdown and Richard James had 56 yards receiving. On the ground Karan Higdon chipped in 99 yards. Lex Sayre helped Riverview's passing attack out by catching one ball for 49 yards.
The Eagles' Pete Dinovo and George Campbell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Dinovo has thrown for 638 yards this season, while Campbell, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 11 catches for 296 yards. Higdon from the Rams leads the league in rushing with 420 yards.
