West Central recap October 22, 2013
South Putnam added to the longest winning streak in West Central this week by beating Cascade, 42-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
South Putnam took down the Cadets 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Seth Brown had a great week catching the football as Greencastle topped Owen Valley. He caught 14 passes for 213 yards.
Jaden Rhea was a force in the backfield as Monrovia topped Clinton Central.
Tyler Scott threw for 370 yards and 1 touchdown. He went 24-37 with 0 interceptions.
Scott put up the best numbers in passing as the Tiger Cubs bested the Patriots. Scott's favorite target this week was Brown, who caught 14 passes for 213 yards.
Greencastle's Scott and Brown led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Scott has thrown for 2,091 yards this season, while Brown has 56 catches for 891 yards. Zac Butler from Cascade leads the league in rushing with 1,285 yards.
Alec Pettit of the Josh Buis' team is only 85 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 152 carries Pettit has accumulated 915 yard this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jason Thompson's team takes on Cloverdale. At the moment, the Cadets are in third, while the Clovers are in sixth.
