Colusa extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Valley this week by beating Williams, 35-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Hamilton scaled the state rankings by moving to 648 from 696 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Braves were able to move up by topping Willows 30-20.
Colusa's dynamic duo of Hunter Mobley and Estavan Frias proved tough for the Yellowjackets to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Mobley threw for 142 yards and 4 touchdowns and Frias had 60 yards receiving. Matt` Pingrey helped Colusa's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 56 yards.
Craig Martynn provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Quincy fell to Maxwell.
6-foot-1 quarterback Ricky Pompa of Hamilton is the league leader in passing yards this season with 756. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is RJ Phillips. The Colusa star has 24 catches for 457 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Colusa takes on second place Hamilton. Last week, Paul Theriault's team beat Williams, while Ryan Bentz's team topped the Honkers.
Ryan Abele of the the RedHawks is just 99 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Abele has rushed for 901 yards on 72 carries so far this year.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when Colusa's Phillips goes up against Hamilton's Pompa.
