2A Conference 37 recap November 19, 2013
Buckingham scaled the state rankings by moving to 116 from 147 this week, the biggest jump in 2A Conference 37. The Knights climbed the ranks as a result of defeating James River 63-24.
Dan River added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Glenvar, 32-15. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Gretna's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Dyon Rosser threw for 156 and 1 touchdown and Von Bennett had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Matt Glass chipped in 138 yards. Virgil Glass helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 69 yards.
The Hawks' dynamic duo of Rosser and Bennett proved tough for Virginia to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Glass helped Gretna's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 69 yards.
Randolph-Henry's Logan Moon and Joseph Reed led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Moon has thrown for 1,575 yards this season, while Reed has 33 catches for 669 yards. Terrell Edmunds from Dan River leads the league in rushing with 1,470 yards.
The top two teams in 2A Conference 37 will face off this week when first place Dan River takes on second place Buckingham. Last week, Ferrell Edmunds' team bested the Highlanders, while Buckingham defeated the Knights.
Craig Gill's team took down James River 63-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
