Bacon County (Alma, Ga.) took an early lead against
Toombs County (Lyons, Ga.) and held on for a 18-0 victory on Saturday.
In the first quarter, the Raiders put up 12 points. Bacon County scored on a punt return touchdown and a rushing touchdown.
After taking the lead on a punt return touchdown in the first quarter, BC was up 12-0 at the half.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Alma school, which was coming off a 14-9 defeat at the hands of Metter in its previous game. The win broke Bacon County's two-game losing streak.
Bacon County (1-2) goes up against Jeff Davis in a AA Region 2 game matchup next week, while Toombs County (1-2) locks horns with Metter also in a AA Region 2 game.
