You might not recognize the power rankings this week after a busy last week rearranged the teams a whole lot. We'll tackle that and more in this week's report.
Banging Down the Door
Xaverian Brothers brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (six points) in the match before. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Attleboro, finishing up at 44 - 6. Xaverian Brothers's margin of victory (38 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. The triumph also thrust it into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 16th spot.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
It was another outing, another win last week for the team with the longest stretch of success (nine consecutive games). The final score between Dennis-Yarmouth Regional and Hanover was a 42 - 7 blowout in Dennis-Yarmouth Regional's favor. Nevertheless, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped two spots in the rankings.
Points Galore
The match between Lexington and Andover last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 85 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. Lexington strolled past Andover with points to spare, taking the game 52 - 33. The win raised Lexington up three spots in the power rankings.
Upcoming Drama
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Lawrence Academy (6th in the state) and Milton Academy (42nd). The last time they met, Lawrence Academy took down Milton Academy 33 - 16. Can Lawrence Academy repeat its success? We'll find out this Saturday.
