MACON, Ga. -
Westside (Macon, Ga.) saw its 16-point lead shrink to 10, but hung on to defeat
West Laurens (Dexter, Ga.) 23-13 on Saturday.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at seven. The Seminoles took the lead for good on a touchdown run in the third quarter.
Westside also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 24-21.
The win was a nice bounce back for WHS, which lost to Veterans last week, 21-14. The victory ended Westside's two-game losing streak. The loss was the third in a row for the Raiders.
Westside (3-2) will play a AAAA Region 2 game against Mary Persons next week, while West Laurens (1-4) will take on Perry also in a AAAA Region 2 game.
