See the Medium Schools Player of the Year in action.Trevor Lawrence of Cartersville (Ga.) has won a number of awards in his short high school career, and now he adds another.
Just a sophomore, Lawrence was the MaxPreps Freshman Player of the Year in 2015. This year, Lawrence has earned recognition as the 2015 MaxPreps Medium Schools Player of the Year.
The Class AAAA State Offensive Player of the Year led Cartersville to a 15-0 record and a state championship with a 10-0 win over perennial champion Buford. He threw for 3,655 yards and 43 touchdowns and already has 6,697 yards passing in his career. He is considered the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the Class of 2018.
Scott Blade of Independence (Thompson's Station, Tenn.) is the Medium Schools Coach of the Year. In his third year as head coach at Independence, Blade led the Eagles from a 6-5 record in 2014 to a 15-0 mark and a Class 5A state championship in 2015. Blade was named the State Coach of the Year by the Tennessee Titans and was also the MidState Coach of the Year by the Nashville Tennessean.
The Medium Schools All-American team consists of 30 players on first and second teams. The players are chosen from schools that play in state enrollment divisions that are generally between 1,000 and 2,000 students. All players are seniors unless otherwise noted.
