Kiel's father, Kip Kiel, told Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star that his son's decision to look at other schools was not an easy one.
"He's re-evaluating his commitment," he said. "It's a difficult situation and tough decision."
Kiel, who is MaxPreps' No. 2 recruit overall, had committed to Indiana. The Hoosiers are 1-6 this season and suffered a 59-7 setback to Wisconsin last weekend.
On Saturday night, Kiel reportedly plans to attend Notre Dame's game against USC. The Fighting Irish were already set to host
an impressive group of recruits that Kiel will be joining.
The news of Kiel's commitment to Indiana in July surprised many, including Indiana fans, who saw Kiel as a key figure in the program's potential turnaround.
Alabama and Oklahoma were Kiel's other finalists before he picked Indiana. Now, both schools could be back in play. Notre Dame, where Kiel's uncle, Blair Kiel, once played quarterback, figures to be in contention as well.
On the season, Kiel has thrown for 1,004 yards and 15 touchdowns versus only one interception.
