Benbrook were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Western Hills 56-7.
It took a quarter to shake off the cobwebs, but after zero first-quarter points, the Benbrook offense picked up 12 points in the second quarter. Western Hills wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 12-7 heading into the break. Benbrook put the game away in the third quarter with 30 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The win bumped their record up to 4-1. The defeat dropped Western Hills' record to 3-2.
Next week Benbrook take on Lake Worth at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Benbrook and Lake Worth will really light up the scoreboard. Western Hills will take on Kennedale at home at 7:30 PM. Western Hills have seen their point totals decreasing over the past four games, a vulnerability Kennedale are surely hoping to exploit.
