FAIRFIELD, Calif. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Fairfield (Calif.) held on for a 12-10 victory over
Rodriguez (Fairfield, Calif.) on Saturday. The difference for the Falcons was that
Tyler Ross thew a touchdown to
Michael Arredondo.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run, the Mustangs went into halftime with a 10-6 lead. The Falcons took the lead to win the game on a Ross touchdown pass to Arredondo in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring zero points in the third, Fairfield still trailed by four points going into the fourth quarter. But six points in the fourth helped FHS pull out the victory.
Rodriguez's only touchdown came on a 23-yard run in the second quarter.
The victory will ease some of the sting of Fairfield's close 13-12 loss to Rodriguez last season.
The loss was the third in a row for RHS.
In a non-conference game next week Rodriguez (0-3) takes on Oakland, and Fairfield (2-1) will go up against Stagg also in a non-conference game.
