Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.) scored a big victory over St. Bonaventure on Friday night and as a result, enjoys a nice rise in the Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.
The top-ranked team in Southern California, Westlake rises from No. 22 to just outside the Top 10 at No. 12.
If it survives the
Southern Section Northern Division playoff bracket unscathed, it will have a great chance to capture an Open Division Bowl Game berth.
The rankings figure to change greatly over the next few weeks, as several ranked teams will square off.
Trinity and Allen will do battle in the
Texas 5A-I playoffs on Saturday. The winner could see Skyline down the road, if Skyline can clear a major hurdle against DeSoto.
