Independence (2-5) takes on South Mountain (4-3) this Friday at 7:00 PM. South Mountain will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Independence defense that has allowed an average of 36 points per game.
Independence is still under.500 but has been making strides to fix that in its last two games. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, it beat Camelback 24 - 18 last week.
As for South Mountain, last game was the first rocky defensive outing for it this year. It suffered a painful 48 - 21 defeat to Glendale last week.
The last time they met, Independence walked away with a 28 - 14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for it since the team will be on South Mountain's home field this time. We'll soon find out whether that makes a difference or not.
