North Allegheny (Wexford, Pa.) put up 14 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 28-0 victory over
Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Mack Leftwich to
Elijah Zeise in the first quarter, the Tigers led 7-0 at the half.
North Allegheny expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. NA scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Alex DiCiantis.
DiCiantis was the top performer for the Wexford school. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.
The Tigers came into the game allowing 5.0 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Central Catholic, which notched a 28-8 victory over Pine-Richland in its previous outing.
North Allegheny (7-0) will play a WPIAL AAAA Northern Eight game against Shaler Area next week, while Central Catholic (5-2) will take on Altoona in a non-conference game.
