Both Stamford and Sundown have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 3:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Sundown will need to watch out since Stamford has posted big point totals in its previous six matchups.
Stamford has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling three) after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Anthony last week with a conclusive 69 - 14 victory. One of the main ringleaders for Stamford was junior Trevaul (tretre) mitchell, who rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sundown kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, it beat West Texas 21 - 14 last week. Sophomore Christian Huey deserves a lot of the credit as he ran for 191 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. Huey has been a consistent playmaker for Sundown as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Their wins bumped Sundown to 10-1 and Stamford to 9-2. Stamford and Sundown will be experiencing extra pressure in this one since they are each in the midst of a winning streak (Stamford with six wins, Sundown with five). We'll see which team can handle the heat this Saturday.
