Some of the nation's top high school basketball talent will be heading to Houston April 1 for the National High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.
Intersport, CBS Sports and MaxPreps.com will showcase 16 future college stars in the event, which will be held at the Berry Center at 7 p.m. CT Friday, April 1. It will be broadcast Sunday, April 3 (4:30-6 p.m. CT) on CBS Sports with numerous encore showings on CBS College Sports Network.
MaxPreps is selecting eight rim-rocking dunkers and eight long-range shooting specialists to compete. Details on participants will be released in the coming days.
At least one competitor – who must be a high school senior – in the slam dunk contest will be identified via video submission to MaxPreps.com

Intersport, a media marketing company based in Chicago, will manage the event. Intersport owns two additional high school properties: Kirk Herbstreit National Kickoff Classic and the Under Armour High School All-America Game, as well as the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

Tickets for the 2011 High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships are $10 for adults, $7 for students and can be purchased at

Intersport is also the creator of the 23rd annual College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships, which has showcased top college talent such as Kendall Gill, Bobby Hurley, Steve Nash and Gary Payton. The 2011 College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will take place at the University of Houston's Hofheinz Pavilion and will air from 9-11 p.m. ET March 31 on ESPN2.
