The world spun even faster this past week for Nelson Agholor.

Monday night, he had an in-home visit by Southern Cal head coach Lane Kiffin. Thursday night, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly stopped by. A week ago, Florida State's Jimbo Fisher paid a visit.
By this weekend, he was to be on a plane headed for Los Angeles to make his fifth and final official visit. This time, to USC.
In the meantime, there are a large number of University of Florida and Florida State loyalists who want to see their homegrown star stay at home in Gainesville or Tallahassee. When he accepted the Guy Toph Award for being selected the top player in Hillsborough County, Joe Toph, son of Guy, told those assembled at the county's school board auditorium for the presentation: "I know Florida is a great school."
The room erupted into a polite laughter, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
The Gator chants and visits began long ago.
Agholor, a native of Nigeria whose father works at the University of South Florida, led Berkeley Prep to the Florida Class 3A semifinals this past season and the Bucs perhaps only lost that game after a 12-0 start because a shoulder injury sidelined Agholor, the team's running back and a defensive back, in the second half.
"He is a great player," says Berkeley Prep football coach Dominick Ciao, "but by far a greater person. It's been an honor to coach him."
The praise also comes from opposing coaches.
"He's the best tailback I've seen in my entire career coaching," Naples Golden Gate High School coach Mike DiGrigoli told the Naples (Fla.) News after watching Agholor rush for 218 yards and five touchdowns in just one half of play.
Agholor is being touted as a wide receiver in college. However, at Berkeley, he rushed for 1,983 yards and 28 touchdowns in 212 carries his senior season as his team's top running back. He also averaged more than 11 yards per catch and was a scoring threat virtually every time he returned punts. Many of his scoring runs and returns were straight up the middle, where defenders simply could not match his speed.
He was just as dominant defensively.

"He makes everything look easy and is a natural athlete …," says Tom Lemming, MaxPreps recruiting analyst. "He's a sure-handed receiver with all-the-way kind of speed, and he uses his balance, instincts and agility that he uses on the defensive side of the ball."
Agholor was named to the Under Armour All-American Bowl game played in January at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, just across Tampa Bay from his home.
And when it came time for recruiting, Florida head coach Will Muschamp visited Agholor on the first day in-home visits were allowed.
"My family enjoyed that," Agholor said on a gatorcountry.com video.
But will first translate into a signature on signing day?
How we see it:
Florida (strong shot): Agholor has lived in Florida since he was 5 years old and his home‘s close proximity to the University of Florida‘s Gainesville campus could make a difference. If he becomes a Gator, he'll work with new offensive coordinator Brent Pease, the former offensive coordinator for Boise' State's high-flying offense. That's a big plus.
Florida State (good shot): Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher is among the
Top 10 recruiters in the nation, according to MaxPreps recruiting analyst Tom Lemming, and Fisher would love to land Agholor.
USC (warming up): Southern Cal coach Lane Kiffin is making a hard charge for Agholor. He had an in-home visit with Agholor this past Monday. Agholor also had offers from UCLA and Oregon, but the Trojans are No. 1 if he goes west.
Notre Dame (possible): Agholor had an in-home visit with most of the Irish's coaching staff, including head coach Brian Kelly, on Wednesday. Should he choose the Irish, he'd fit in nicely with a young offense that includes sophomore quarterback Tommy Rees. The Irish have a verbal commitment from the nation's top quarterback recruit, Gunner Kiel of Columbus, Ind.
Oklahoma (long shot): Agholor visited the Sooners' Norman campus in December. What remains to be seen is if Oklahoma chases Agholor strongly down the stretch.
Final take: As recruiting headed into the final week, the two Florida schools and USC seemed to be at the head of the Agholor sweepstakes, especially the Florida Gators and what is shaping up as a Top 5 recruiting class.
