West Broward has a real challenge coming up -- the hardest it has met all year. Both it and St. Thomas Aquinas have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:30 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. West Broward is coming into the game hot, having won five in a row.
West Broward kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It got a somewhat close 31 - 26 victory over Forest Hill last week.
As for St. Thomas Aquinas, it can now show off six landslide victories after its most recent game. It put the hurt on South Miami last week with a conclusive 56 - 0 victory. St. Thomas Aquinas had two big standouts, as junior Nigel White earned one touchdown and 61 yards rushing the ball, while junior Daniel Carter rushed for 30 yards and two touchdowns. Carter's longest score was a 21-yard scramble in the first quarter. Carter has been a consistent playmaker for St. Thomas Aquinas as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
