Fabens (5-4) and Mountain View (3-6) are set to face off this Friday at 7:00 PM. Both teams enjoyed a wide margin in their previous games.
Fabens went up against San Elizario two weeks ago. Fabens got off to a good start with a 20-point offensive effort in the first half. That gave them a 20 - 7 advantage at the half. The offense kept at it in the second half and scored another 20. At the end of the day, Fabens walked away with a breezy 40 - 7 win.
Meanwhile, Mountain View's four-game losing streak finally came to an end two weeks ago. The final score between it and San Elizario last week was a 56 - 0 blowout in Mountain View's favor. Mountain View had two big standouts, as senior Bryan Godinez threw for 233 yards and five touchdowns, while senior Manny Garcia iii earned one touchdown and 157 yards rushing the ball. This marked the 5th consecutive game in which Garcia iii had 100+ rushing yards. Additional support came from junior Axel Diaz, a defensive powerhouse who racked up 12 tackles.
Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Fabens and Mountain View will really light up the scoreboard.
