This is one of the most prestigious team awards in all of high school sports and it is an exclusive honor reserved for the top 100 teams nationwide. In order to be eligible, a team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the
MaxPreps National Rankings. For soccer, only 20 of the country's best are invited and with nearly 34,000 competing varsity teams. This puts the Harborwomen ahead of 99.9 percent of their opponents!
On Saturday, Nov. 19 the Hingham Harborwomen successfully completed their undefeated MIAA state championship season (21-0-1) after a 2-1 overtime win over Arlington in the
Eastern Mass Division 2 state final game. The 2016 title is the third girls soccer championship in school history.
The unbeaten Harborwomen outmatched Dighton-Rehoboth Regional (9-1), Holliston (6-2) and Medfield (3-1) in the postseason before the season finale at Manning Field in Lynn. MIAA state champion Hingham finished the year ranked
No.1 in the state and
No.6 in the nation according to the MaxPreps National Rankings.
These incredible season achievements have earned the Hingham Harborwomen an invitation to the 12th Annual Tour of Champions.
Please join us as we celebrate with the girls soccer team, coaching staff, students and fans on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at 6:30 p.m. during halftime of the boys basketball game in the gym.
