Needles (7 - 1) and Meadows (5 - 2) take on one another this Thursday at 7:00 PM on Needles's home turf. Needles is hoping to reclaim some of the glory it left behind after its shocking comeback loss last game.
Last week, Needles took on Lincoln County. Needles's offense came in ready to rumble, putting up 24 points in the first half. That put it at a 24 - 6 advantage. Unfortunately, Needles's defense allowed 27 points in the second half, dropping the lead when it really counted. It just fell apart after the half, letting a very likely win slip into a bitter 33 - 32 defeat.
As for Meadows, it scooted by Agassi Prep two weeks ago with a score of 40 - 20. Senior wide receiver Adam Martinez was especially active in the win, finding the endzone a remarkable five times. Martinez has been a consistent playmaker for Meadows as this was the 7th good game in a row from him.
Meadows is looking to hand Needles its first back-to-back losses of the season. We'll find out if Needles can avoid giving it that satisfaction.
