Both Albany (13-0) and Muenster (13-0) have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Muenster will need to watch out since Albany has posted big point totals in its previous 12 matchups.
Albany went up against Lindsay last week. With 35 points in the first half, Albany started the game off on a good foot. That gave them a 35 - 7 advantage at the half. The offense kept at it in the second half and scored another 20. In the end, Albany steamrollered its way to an easy 55 - 7 victory.
As for Muenster, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was exactly its strategy in dealing with Munday last week. Muenster blew past Munday 41 - 7. Junior Parker Mcgrew was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he tossed the ball for 275 yards and five TDs). Mcgrew also scored on a 29-yard scramble in the third quarter. This sound performance was nothing new for Mcgrew, who has been a rock for Muenster in the past 13 games. Sophomore Danny Luttmer was in the mix too, providing Muenster with two touchdowns.
Muenster's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Albany defense that got six sacks against Lindsay. We'll see if it is up to the challenge.
