Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 31-15 victory over
Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run, the Panthers went into halftime with a 7-0 lead. The Packers took the lead for good with a touchdown pass by
Cole Segraves to
Bobby Hill in the third quarter.
Segraves was the top performer for Colquitt County. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
Led by
Trey Derouen, Parkview came in surrendering 14.4 points per game this season. PHS struggled against CC, which came in averaging 27.9 points per game. Coming into the game the Moultrie school had allowed 18.0 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding the Lilburn school below its season average of 20.4 points scored per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Parkview, which notched a 26-23 victory over West Forsyth in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Panthers' 2-game winning streak.
