The powerful 6-foot-5, 215-pound receiver had 77 yards and three touchdown catches last week as
Hillcrest (Springfield, Mo.) overcame an early 21-0 deficit to defeat St. Clair (Mo.), 49-28, in its Class 4 state playoff opener.
The Springfield News-Leader reported that those modest totals enabled him to set state career records with 4,079 yards and 51 touchdown catches. He also bettered his own single-season state record with 1,622 receiving yards. Quarterback Matt Futrell did the passing, totaling 236 yards and four touchdowns.
Green-Beckham hopes to add to his records Monday night when Hillcrest takes on 10-1 Union in the second playoff round.
