AAA District 11 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Brentwood took down Wilson Central 35-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Hillsboro and Antioch played the most hotly contested game in AAA District 11 this week, with Hillsboro eventually emerging with a 17-12 victory.
Independence's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Vic Wharton III threw for 97 and one touchdown and Josh Murray had 72 yards receiving. On the ground Jalen Wade chipped in 102 yards. Finis Stribling IV helped Independence's passing attack out by catching one ball for 23 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Joe Critchlow of Franklin is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1216. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, the Bruins' Ben Green has rushed for 1205 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Andy Schumpert. The Brentwood star has 19 catches for 463 yards.
The Burros made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,154 from 2,942. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 17-12 victory over the Bears last week.
