District 10 Region 4 AA recap November 5, 2013
North East scaled the state rankings by moving to 345 from 376 this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 4 AA. The Grape Pickers were able to move up by beating Strong Vincent 28-14.
Girard added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Saegertown, 49-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Yellowjackets.
Corry's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nathainel Smith threw for 34 and 1 touchdown and Ryan Morris had 34 yards receiving. On the ground Liam Cragg contributed 92 yards. John Hammond helped Corry's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 28 yards.
Cragg provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Beavers beat Union City. Cragg's favorite target this week was Morris, who caught 2 passes for 34 yards.
Cragg was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 92 yards on 4 carries as Corry defeated the Bears. Teammate Morris added to the ground attack by rushing for 75 yards.
Travis Carey's team's Smith and Cragg led District 10 Region 4 AA in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Smith has thrown for 1,199 yards this season, while Cragg has 26 catches for 418 yards. Shannon Jackson from Fairview leads the league in rushing with 1,453 yards.
