Plant extended the longest winning streak in 8A District 6 this week by beating Central, 17-7. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Panthers.
Wharton made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 1,957 from 2,101.
Plant's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Colby Brown threw for 82 and 1 touchdown and Alexander Jackson had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Patrick Brooks chipped in 144 yards. Brooks helped Plant's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 29 yards.
Brooks was a passing and rushing force as Robert Weiner's team topped the Cobras. Brooks' key target this week was Jackson, who caught 3 passes for 43 yards.
Brown put up the best numbers through the air as the Panthers defeated Central.
6-foot-1 quarterback Brown of Plant is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,528. He has also thrown 27 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Auden Tate. The Wharton star has 44 catches for 765 yards.
Accruing a total of 13 touchdowns this year, Chase Litton has thrown for 1,966 yards with 9 interceptions.
The Panthers led the league in points allowed with 7.
