See Steve Montoya and Zack Poff break down this week's rankings.
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) took over the top spot in the west in the MaxPreps regional football computer rankings, becoming the first team to knock Bishop Gorman out of the No. 1 ranking this season.
The Monarchs defeated St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), which is No. 3 in the west region. The win was enough to not only put Mater Dei at No. 1 in the west region, but also the overall MaxPreps computer rankings.
The rest of the No.1 teams in the four other regions remained the same with Colerain (Cincinnati) No. 1 in the midwest, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) No. 1 in the south, Allen (Texas) No. 1 in the southwest and St. Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia) No. 1 in the northeast.
