Video: Freshman goes sideline to sideline on kick return TDEric Bradley, a freshman at
Alma (Mich.), couldn't be tackled in a game against Bullock Creek on Thursday.
He was like a ghost, a magician, or at the very least, a kid with a very slippery jersey.
Bradley ran at least 150 yards for his seen-to-be-believed 75-yard kickoff return for touchdown. He zoomed to his right, backtracked, zoomed to the left, stopped, stammered, zoomed back to the right and then somehow, amongst a sea of humanity, slithered through down the sideline the last 30 yards for a touchdown.
Bradley said the aftermath was as memorable as the run itself.
"I was real tired but that didn't stop my teammates from jumping on me," he said. "They just about knocked me over in the end zone."
The reaction around Alma ever since has been a knockout also. A video clip of the run has been seen all over the Internet.
"It feels like everywhere I go there are people telling me, 'Hey man, nice run the other night. You should send that into SportsCenter," Bradley said.
If the reaction of his friends and teammates was strong, a gander at the Bullock Creek sideline said it all. As the run was taking place, they collectively raised their hands to their helmets, in disbelief, like they were watching a bad, slow-motion car wreck.
It looked like the entire Bullock Creek squad on the field had a legitimate shot at No. 7 throughout the return. But no one could bring him down.
Bradley said he had extra incentive before the kickoff.
On the Bullock Creed touchdown before the kickoff, Bradley said his opponent "Waved their finger in the air, saying 'no, no, no,'" he said. "That really set me off."
So much so, he told his coach, "Not to worry because they won't be talking after they kick the ball to me."
As far as the run itself, Bradley said "I just couldn't find any openings to go all the way so I did
whatever it took to make an opening to the end zone."
And a likely spot on the MaxPreps Plays of the Week, or maybe even SportsCenter.
